Monday the 6th March marked the beginning of British Pie Week. The best time of the year, without a doubt. Seriously, I can’t think of a better dinner than a steaming hot pie, served with a delicious Ale. And what better excuse to enjoy exactly that, than British Pie Week?

You may not have heard of British Pie Week before, but it has been around for quite some time. Originally a marketing campaign set up by ready-made pastry company, Jus-Rol, the concept took off. It takes place every first full week in March, which this year happens to be the 6th through to the 12th March.

This week is the perfect opportunity for us Brits to celebrate one of our most beloved pastry.  Pubs and bakeries are using the oppurtunity to give us special pie related offers and giveaways. For example, if you head over to Pukka Pies Twitter, you could be in a chance to win a whole of case of pies!

You can take part in this years pie week yourself if you’re feeling peckish. It’s simple. All you need to do is treat yourself to your most favoured pie, and there’s many ways you can do this. You can visit your local pub or pie shop and tuck in, or maybe even host a pie party.

It’s completely up to you how you go about it, just remember to enjoy yourself, and eat many pies.
