Careless selfie leads to costing an art gallery $200,000
Selfies are now recognised in the dictionary, apparently. It’s the simple act or using your phone’s front camera to take a picture of yourself.
However, this lady at an art museum has possibly taken (or at least tried to) her most expensive selfie ever.
An art gallery in Los Angeles had a Simon Birch exhibit which was only on display until the end of July. However, one viewer managed to cause $200,000’s worth of damage.
In the video above, you can clearly see in the top right that she tries to kneel down to take a selfie with one of the art pieces. It gets horrible though, as she loses her footing slightly.
It’s bad enough that she knocked over one of the stands. However, a full domino effect meant that an entire row of the art pieces fell to the floor. Most pieces retained permanent damage.
It was an accident, but you’d think that somebody volunteering to view precious artwork would be at least a little bit more careful!
