It’s not long now until Daniel Craig hands his role as James Bond to a newcomer. However, it seems that he may well have been talked into doing just one more film as the MI6 agent.
Franchise producer, Barbara Broccoli, has apparently talked Craig into doing one more film before he takes his leave. This comes after warm reception when Broccoli produced hit off-Broadway production of ‘Othello’ with actor-producer David Oyelowo.
All Bond fans know how Craig feels towards his current Bond role though. Back in 2015, he has expressed that he’d rather “slash his wrists” than carry on his place as James Bond. Quite a strong statement. Broccoli is also not so keen on the anticipation of Tom Hiddleston (Kong: Skull Island, The Avengers, The Night Manager), stating he’s too “smug” and not “tough” enough for a Bond role.
Apparently, as soon as Daniel Craig is ready to commit then the production for his final Bond film will begin. Screenwriting duo, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, have a script together and are ready to go.
It’s worth taking this with a pinch of salt, since neither Craig nor Broccoli’s representatives haven’t commented. It does make sense though, Craig needs a good see-off before he throws in the Towel.
