Some of Britain’s well known brand foods such as Marmite and Pot Noodles may be taking some time away from Tesco shelves in Britain due to a recent dispute with Unilever – the UK’s biggest food and grocery manufacturer.
The dispute was raised when Unilever attempted to pass Tesco on in higher wholesale prices, probably because of the recent fall in value of the pound resulting in Unilever facing higher costs.
The products involved include Marmite, Surf Washing Powder, Comfort Frabric Conditioner, Hellman’s Mayonnaise, Pot Noodles, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, Cornetto, PG Tips, Lipton, Lynx Deodorant and more.
Pot noodles as currently listed on Tesco’s website.
Marmite and Pot Noodles are both listed as “unavailable” on the Tesco website for now due to “availability issues”, meaning they could well disappear from the shelves for a while when all their current stock is gone.
Tesco claim to have the issue resolved “soon”, but there is no indication of how soon “soon” really is.
