That’s right. Take That legend Gary Barlow claims he landed a role in the upcoming addition to the Star Wars saga, The Last Jedi. However, he insists that he won’t be hidden behind a Stormtrooper uniform.
Previously, it has been confirmed that the James Bond superstar, Daniel Craig, had a secret role in The Force Awakens but we never actually knew about it until formally revealed later on. He played the role of a Stormtrooper and we never even knew it was him. Craig isn’t the only big name to be hidden behind the First Order outfit, as Tom Hardy (Taboo, Mad Max, The Dark Knight Rises) has apparently confirmed his involvement with the next Star Wars chapter.
As for Mr Barlow, it’s not clear how he will be featuring in the next installment to the series. He revealed the news on ITV’s morning show Lorraine, and said the following:
“I’m not a stormtrooper, but I am in it.
“Now I’ve said that, I’ll probably be out. I think the Star Wars people are so strict about what information [is out there].
“So me saying that, I’ve probably just done myself out of a role!”
Barlow is quite safe though, apparently. ITV checked with Lucasfilm bosses before the announcement was made just in case it was going to slip out anyway. What role do you think he will land? Maybe a singer in a cantina? We will have to wait until December to find out.
