Virtual Reality is taking the gaming world by a storm. What used to be a mere vision of the future is quickly becoming a reality. We no longer have to just sit with a controller, we can physically get in the middle of the action.
For some of us lucky Brits, there will be a “pop-up VR arcade” making its way to London this June. On the weekend of the 3rd and 4th June, “Other Worlds VR arcade” will be making an appearance. The pop-up arcade is set to take place in a “secret location” somewhere in East London and will host gamers who don VR helmets and polish off street food and cocktails. It sounds quite amazing.
Get in on the action
By day, there will be events suitable for all ages, with more “child-friendly” refreshments such as bacon butties, ice-cream and retro cereals. However, 4PM until midnight will see the bars opening up and DJs making a takeover. Things may get a little messy, but it’s all good fun at the end of the day.
Eight HTC Vive VR rigs will be available, each with a big screen so your audience can laugh at how bad you are. However, the thing that has got me is the retro consoles they are setting up – each hooked to an era appropriate TV. Not only is it a Virtual Reality fest, but a nostalgia trip too!
As mentioned before, Other Worlds VR arcade will be taking place somewhere in East London on the weekend of the 3d and 4th June this year. You’re not out of luck if you’re not a Londoner though. Plans to come to Birmingham, Cardiff and Manchester are also in place. If you want to find out more, head to otherworldsvra.com and book your tickets before it’s too late.
