McDonald’s delivery service to hit the UK

The time has come! We won’t need to leave our house in order to get a Maccies before long. McDonald’s has announced that they are set to bring their home delivery service to the UK. This is simultaneously the best and worst thing that could possibly happen.

McDonald’s already has a well established delivery service in its Asian branches that spans across countries like China, Singapore and South Korea. Recent announcements show that McDonald’s now plan on extending this delivery service in Europe, America and Canada. So that means that here in the UK we will get it, along with France and Germany.

The reason that they are doing this now is due to the expansion of food delivery that they say has “created exceptional opportunity for growth”. With the likes of Just Eat and Hungry House being on top of the food delivery market, this comes as little surprise! With a reputation like McDonald’s already has, they’re uniquely positioned to become global leaders in this sector.

McDonald’s claims that most customers live within a 3 mile radius of one of their restaurants which makes it even more feasible because their food will still be hot. Also, despite having their own drivers, there are plans to work with companies such as Uber which is currently being tested in Florida.

Will you be taking advantage of this new service? Or do you think the easy access to it will kill the fun behind a junk food treat?
