For the man of the month section this July, we want to pay our respects to a very special young man. Bradley Lowery unfortunately passed away early this month, after a long battle with cancer.
At only 18 months, young Bradley was diagnosed with neuroblastoma – a rare type of cancer. This young man in his short time went on to become Sunderland’s mascot, as well as become “best mates” with his hero, Jermain Defoe.

Bradley’s parents confirmed his death over social media on the 7th July, stating the following.
“My brave boy has went with the angels today 07/07/17 at 13:35, in mammy and daddies arms surrounded by his family.
“He was our little superhero and put the biggest fight up but he was needed else where.
“There are no words to describe how heart broken we are.
“Thank you everyone for all your support and kind words.
“Sleep tight baby boy and fly high with them angels.”
Despite what he was going through, little Bradley was always seen with a smile on his face. He has inspired many (including every single one of us here at Man Wants) with his bravery.

In his short time with us, Bradley captured our hearts and minds. While his funeral takes place today (14th July), our thoughts go out to his family, friends, and everybody that loved him dearly.
There’s only one Bradley Lowery. Rest in peace little man.
