Takeaway pizza is renowned for being quite pricey, especially from the likes of expert rip-off-artists such as Dominos. Well, a restaurant called “Industry Kitchen” which resides in New York has taken things to the next level.
The “24K” pizza is an Industry Kitchen specialty, and you’ll never see anything like it anywhere else in the world. Its toppings include fancy gold flakes, imported white stilton cheese, Ossetra caviar, truffles, and Foie Gras. Whether that’s your kind of thing or not, is up to you. I’m not sure it would top my all time favourite meat-feast.
You’ll feel a lot better about yourself though when you see the price. If you’re after giving this pizza a try, you’d have to be willing to pay $2,000 (£1627.53). On top of that, you kitchen needs at least 48 hours notice. It comes served in 8 slices, making it roughly £200 per slice.
Braulio Bunay, the restaurant’s chef, describes the pizza as “extremely rich” which sounds like the perfect description for it.
I’m not sure I could ever justify having one of these for myself. I’m going to stick with my local takeaway. Unless… Do you think they’d do a “buy one, get another for £1” like my local takeaway?
