Four statues are to be raised of Jamaican track and fields stars by 2017 in honour of their outstanding contribution to the development of Jamaican track and field
Among the Olympians to be set in stone includes Usain Bolt, Veronica Campbell-Brown, Shelly-Ann Frager-Pryce and Asafa Powell.
The statues will be put in the Kingstons National Stadium Statue Park along side other Jamaican legends such as reggae genius Bob Marley and Olympic sprint notables Herb McKenley, Don Quarrie and Merlene Ottey.
The first statues to be completed will be of Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Frager-Pryce, expected for 2017 which marks the 55th anniversary of independence in Jamaica. The other two statues for Veronica Campbell-Brown and Asafa Powell are expected to be completed the following year.
