Just Eat It: Liverpool’s Biggest Burger Eating Challenge

The Man Wants team are always on the hunt for the best eateries in the UK and beyond. Recently, a member of our team visited Uncle Sam’s in Liverpool and couldn’t report back sooner.

Uncle Sam’s is an American-Italian restaurant, set in the heart of Liverpool. Having been established for over 40 years, it has gained a loyal following with generations of families travelling to Uncle Sam’s for its unique dining experience.

Just a quick glimpse at Uncle Sam’s Instagram will have you hooked. Their menu includes some of the Best Burgers, Steaks, Ribs, Pizza & American-Italian cuisine that Liverpool has to offer. After a hearty recommendation, we figured we’d get in touch with the guys over at Uncle Sam’s and find out what this winning formula is all about.

“So, we’re suckers for a Burger? What would you recommend as Uncle Sam’s Best Burger?”

“I’d say our best selling burger is our classic chuckwagon, doubled up! Our recipe has been the same for 40 years, and generations of families still come in to Uncle Sam’s for the burger! The burger is made from a chuck mince and  is made fresh on site daily.”

“We can’t help but notice that Uncle Sam’s have gained a little notoriety for it’s acclaimed eating challenges?”

“Yeah, we also do a burger challenge at Uncle Sam’s.”

“So what’s this Burger eating Challenge all about?”

“The burger weighs in at 5Lb in total, and consists of the patty, fries, bacon, onion rings and loads of cheese, with an 11” custom burger bun.

You’ve got an hour to finish it, and if you do it’s free! Along with a medal and a spot on our wall of fame.”

“How many super-humans have managed to complete this challenge?”

“We’ve had about 4000 people try to do it, with 39 winners. The record holder, professional food challenger Randy Santel did it in 14 minutes. Beast.”

We’ll be heading on down to Uncle Sam’s to see if we can defeat the ‘Uncle Sam’s Burger Challenge’ – we heard that 2018 is yet to bring a winner! Think you can take it on?
