Our man of the month for April is the much-loved husband and dad, PC Keith Palmer. Unfortunately, PC Palmer lost his life in the recent Westminster bridge terror attack on the 22nd March. However, his bravery will always be remembered by us all.
PC Palmer was a member of the Metropolitan Police’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection command. He served in the army as a member of the Royal Artillery but then joined the police force, where he served 15 years. Many of us owe our lives to this man, as he protected parliament and British democracy carrying out his duty.

“Keith will be remembered as a wonderful dad and husband. A loving son, brother and uncle. A long-time supporter of Charlton FC. Dedicated to his job and proud to be a police officer, brave and courageous. A friend to everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed.” – The Palmer Family
PC Palmer was a big supporter of Charlton FC, as well as a season-ticket holder. His seat at The Valley was draped in a scarf until the 4th April home game in his honour. Keith was a familiar face to many supporters and had been in that same seat for many years. Players were seen lined for a minute of silence at the home game in his memory.

It takes a lot of bravery and courage to step in to these types of situations, when others would have stepped back. We are all truly grateful for this man’s sacrifice and his service to this country.
